“K2″, “spice”, fake marijuana is one of the topics for today’s show. It is an “incense” that has come under the radar of the DEA . Should it be legal or not? This is followed by a discussion on the use of drug treatment for addiction, such as methadone and suboxone.
This week’s guest is Kansas Cafferty, a Master Counselor of Addictions, Marriage and Family Therapist, and he carries a Clinical Supervisor Credential for supervising other addiction counselors. He is a full time therapist at Newport Academy, the nation’s premiere residential treatment program for teens, and has a private practice in Oceanside, Ca. He also serves in a leadership capacity for the adolescent specialty committee for NAADAC (National Association of Alcohol, Drug and other Addiction Counselors). Kansas has been in the addiction treatment field for 13 years, working primarily with adolescents, young adults, and relapse prone individuals.
