Social Media: Cheap and Easy – Google Gets Social, Facebook Gets Political, and Acer Lays Down Dead

Google is tackling the idea of a social network yet again. Buzz flopped, but Plus One has some real potential. Facebook is setting itself up as a political golden-child because it helps win elections, and that could make it immune to privacy issues. And Acer laid down to die this week. They’ve fired their CEO who wanted to move into the mobile market because Acer thinks the PC is still the core of their business. May they rest in peace.
