The failure of the so-called “super-committee” has brought our nation to the precipice of economic calamity. The lack of leadership of our President, the pitiful choices offered up by the Republican candidates opposing him, the dysfunction of our Congress, the lack of trust in our government and more have created a crossroads for our democracy. At this juncture, decisions of selflessness are needed from the various constituencies of our government.
