Seeking Serenity – Sheilana Massey DD

Dr. Margery (Mercy) Runyan, psychotherapist, dream expert and hypnotherapist, interviews Sheilana Massey, Doctor of Divinity from the Inner Focus Church, who currently provides transformational counseling on Pine Island in SW Florida. Dr. Massey has been recognized as gifted since her early life within a Quaker farm family. Dr. Mercy met Sheilana at a weekly Meditation for Peace attended by extraordinary people. Sheilana taught Dr. Mercy that she is a powerful spirit who came to earth to have the experiences that she needed to have. Sheilana often says ‘do not believe what I believe; go inside, stay conscious, experience for yourself and form your own beliefs.’ According to Dr. Massey, ideas are places where we get stuck. We must unreservedly surrender all beliefs, opinions, and expectations and experience life anew every moment in order to connect with our Divine Essence.

Dr. Massey graduated from the 3-year School of Energy Master (Robert T. Jaffe) in 1993. She has also studied with AlixSandra Parness founder of the Inner Focus School of Advanced Energy Healing and has taught there as a senior instructor. Other inspirations have been Paul Lowe in Australia and David R. Hawkins, Director of the Institute for Advanced Spiritual Research. She finds Spirit and Matter unified in the Heart of Our Hearts and uses chakras, chants, and meditation to access the God-Self. She has written two books Peace has No Space for Memories and Along the Path of Enlightenment which listeners can order from Dr. Massey at pineland8@aol.com.

Seeking Serenity – The Sky Dancer

Dr. Margery Runyan aka Dr. Mercy, a Jungian psychotherapist, interviews Mara Le Grande, the Dakini Sky Dancer. Mara is a multi-faceted woman who has lately produced two films, Heart and Soil about farmers dedicated to self-sufficiency and Wild Horses in Winds of Change, both through Sky Dancer Productions. Dr. Mercy and Mara find themselves in Durango, Colorado where Mara has practiced Ayurveda, a set of practices developed in India, and lived close to nature. Mara talks about the difficulties involved in advocating for wild horses losing their freedom due to encroachment of ranching and policies of the Bureau of Land Management. Maria’s career in public health led her to Tibet, Nepal and China where she had an epiphany about the impermanence of life and suddenly stepped into the light, taking full responsibility for her time here on earth. Mara has learned to accept suffering and then move quickly into healing practices designed for overall balance such as diet, yoga, and meditation. She connects with her inner power and purpose through listenening and trusting what she hears. Mara’s journey through third-world suffering, Ayurveda, and now advocacy for all living things is a tribute to her courage and compassion. Mara can be reached at skydancer@frontier.net and Dr. Mercy at mercyrunyan@twindreams.info. Dr. Mercy’s web sites are http://www.twindreams.info/ and www.twindoctor.com.

Seeking Serenity – How does one live a symbolic life?

Dr. Margery Runyan, psychotherapist, discusses the practices of Dr. Carl Jung, a disciple
of Sigmund Freud until they separated over theoretical differences. Dr. Jung believed that
the unconscious had a collective component composed of symbolic energy nodes known
as archetypes. Freud believed that the unconscious was filled solely with repressed
personal material. Dr. Mercy contrasts ‘symbols’ and ‘signs’; the first belongs to the
dream world and intuition and resonates with deeper levels of meaning as the symbol
unfolds within the unconscious and bridges the gap to the consciousness. Signs are
equations that have known meanings within the cultural consciousness.

How does one live a symbolic life? Stay fluid. Listen to your dreams. Go inward.
Resonate with the language of nature and earth. Use intuition. Create a void for symbols
to enter. The psychotherapeutic relationship allows the consciousness and unconscious
of the therapist to resonate with the same levels of the patient. The psychotherapist needs
to be willing to continue to resonate with the symbolism within her own life, to ‘dream
the dream onward.’ Dr. Mercy continues to be the Lioness in her dream in which she
says ‘let her in.’ She has invited the Lioness into her life and the image continues to
unfold.

Seeking Serenity – Journey to the Light

Dr. Margery Runyan (aka Dr. Mercy) makes her debut on Web Talk Radio with an autobiographical musing entitled Journey to the Light. Revealing the Darkness and Light within her Journey, she takes the listener from the suburbia of the 1950s and WASP territory of Southern Ohio to her current sojourn at her mountain- top home in Durango, CO. Along the Way, she weaves into her narrative the influences of Alchemy ala Dr. Carl Jung, Hinduism, the Tao, Christianity, Theosophy, Buddhism, and Energy Healing. These subjects will arise as future episodes. She also provides us with insight into her secular journey through despair to hope and the events along her Way as she searches for Serenity, Truth and Beauty.

This program provides a rare glimpse via audio into the growth and development of a mature psychotherapist, her progress upward through the stages of energy represented by the chakras, the teachers who influenced her, and the psychological theories and methods that she uses in her practice. Dr. Mercy, a true Renaissance woman of the Baby Boomer generation, illuminates the path for those coming behind and desires fervently to connect with those ahead of her on the Journey to the Light.
