Championship Thinking in Sports – Practice Drills and Ideas That Pay Dividends in Games

I’ve known John Donohue a number of years. He is a top flight coach on and off the field at Lowell High School-San Francisco where he has been the Varsity Baseball coach 31 years! So I wasn’t surprised to learn the American Baseball Coaches Association has selected him 2012 National High School, Division I Baseball Coach of the Year. A stickler for repetition and preparation, in this show, John shares several of his proven practice drills and core principles he teaches and reinforces. Under his leadership, what coach Donohue does has worked for Lowell HS-30 consecutive playoff appearances with 11 City/Section and 3 Transbay (Oakland-San Francisco section) championships. As you listen have paper and pen handy. You’ll want to jot information down that will pay dividends for you too. Note: last October, John gave me the opportunity to lead two clinics at Lowell HS for players, coaches and parents. I came away pleased and impressed with the attentiveness of the audience and the genuine respect they gave John.
