The first blush of teenage desire and love is often assumed to be towards the opposite sex. LGBT youth have a far different experience; from the first awareness of an attraction to the same sex, acceptance or rejection of those feelings, the first crush and exploration of love. Being a young adult has many challenges — being a gay teen even more. Ross McCoubrey has written a book called “One Boy’s Shadow,” which he describes as a young adult romance novel combined with a spectral twist. It’s a tale of coming out and falling in love, set in a town in Nova Scotia where ghosts still rein. Please join Jim Duke and Ross as they explore the issues of LGBT youth and how the book is helping to provide much needed services for that population.
