It only takes about 35 minutes to solve a crime on television. There are lots of shootouts, crashing cars and screaming sirens racing through our living rooms each evening as we catch the latest crime show or action movie on the screen. Do we realize that the men and women who are the real law enforcement officers in our communities are not bullet proof and that they bleed and die just the same as we do? Do we realize they also grieve the death of their fellow officers, innocent bystanders and perhaps, once in awhile, even a perpetrator or two?
Today we are honoring Law Enforcement Officers during National Police Week and we’re going to talk about grief from the perspective of a law enforcement officer.
