There are many different faces of grief. Today we’re going to talk about one of those other faces…the grief of losing one’s home, one’s possessions, one’s lifestyle as disaster strikes a community and leaves behind only mud and waste…and memories tossed out in the trash.
My guest today is Father Dave Zimmer, Pastor of St. John the Apostle Church in Minot, North Dakota. Father Dave has been a spiritual leader for a long time and while he has helped many parishioners through grief, he had never had to face a grief that did not claim lives, but lifestyles, hopes and dreams instead. It is a story of harsh realities and devastating loss. Yet, it is also a story of courage and spirit and how one town on the northern prairie, came together to rise again.
