This week Denise visits the Association of Recovery Schools Conference in Southern California to discuss with the experts the future of recovery and sobriety on college campuses. The conference featured the recovery high school concept, but Denise spent a lot of time learning about how to prepare for college while in high school with regards to recovery and also, how to find the colleges and universities who are now recognizing the educational success of students in recovery who have support for their sobriety as well as their educational curriculum.
ARHE, the Association of Recovery in Higher Education promotes collegiate recovery in higher education. Listen to the show and you will hear the many ways this is happening. The CRC, an organization that promotes Collegiate Recovery Programs on many campuses is also a driving force. Hear what can be a bright future for these young people who in the past might have had a much more difficult time staying in school and graduating from these fine colleges and universities.
Denise discusses the issues with Devon Green, from Newport Academy, who offers a sober high school environment in both Orange County, CA and in Chicago, IL.
