Dr. Swaraj Kaur, Ph.D., CEO and President of Dr. Kaur’s Wellness Solutions, is a certified holistic practitioner with over 25 years of experience as scientist and entrepreneur. With doctorates in biochemistry and naturopathy, she has published and presented her work in various scientific communities, including national and international symposiums.

Dr. Kaur has found that spirituality is not learned but comes from within and is beyond logic.When one is faced with health issues, spiritual questions about finding meaning become even more important. She distinguishes between health, as referring to the condition of the body and wellness which is a “complete presentation when there is alignment between the body and mind.” Thus, it’s possible to be physically healthy but if we are not mentally healthy, then one is still not well.

When the body is not healthy, people often are compelled to seek why something is happening to them. Once they get more connected to themselves, there is more guidance available from within. We get messages from our body but we are often too busy to listen to them until something happens to capture our attention.

As we become more self-aware and connected to ourselves and our Higher Power, helping others is a wonderful way to deal with pain. “What we sow, so we reap”. If we do good for others, it comes back to us. Altruism is healing. Prayer is important especially when it’s open-ended discussion with God, a connection of devotion, love and acceptance of ourselves. Those who feel as if they have contributed to the greater good of the universe have an easier time letting go when our time on earth is up. Dr. Kaur suggests taking one to two minutes every morning to breath deeply and enjoy and be thankful for each breath, and to ask for guidance for the day. In the evening, be thankful for the guidance you are given and for the day itself.
