Nutraceuticals are products which come from food sources that can provide extra health benefits, in addition to the basic nutritional value found in the food it came from. To be considered a nutraceutical, a product must produce specific and measurable health benefits. So how do these differ from food supplements on sale at the grocery store, and how do they actually work? In fact, do they even work at all? To answer these questions for you, and many others, this week on Inside Cosmetic Surgery Today, your host Edmonton Cosmetic Dermatologist, Dr. Barry Lycka welcomes an experienced world expert on nutraceuticals, Dr Cory Goldberg from Toronto, Ontario. Dr Goldberg talks about his personal experience with a specific range of nutraceuticals, the Glisodin range, and how he has seen repeated and measurable results when his patients take the product before and after surgery for example. He explains the benefits patients see from the powerful antioxidant, particularly in terms of recovery, reduced inflammation and swelling and therefore reduced pain, and a much quicker return to daily activities.
