In this episode of the Breakout with Newt Gingrich podcast, Newt interviews author Bill Forstchen. Newt has collaborated with Bill on several historical fiction titles including Gettysburg: A Novel of the Civil War, Pearl Harbor and Victory at Yorktown. In 2009, Bill wrote One Second After. One Second After details the story of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack on the United States and its effect on a small North Carolina town. In August of 2014, Bill wrote Day of Wrath. Day of Wrath describes an ISIS attack on schools across America and just how vulnerable the country is to an attack on what can best be described as a “soft target.” Although these books paint a dark picture, they are meant to serve as a wake-up call to the American public in order to stop these events from ever happening.
