Ground Breaking New Book Helps Women and Men transition through Midlife and Menopause
Dr. Rose Kumar is tired of hearing that menopause is an affliction- it’s like saying the world is flat and IT’S JUST NOT TRUE! In fact, the mid-life women she treats at the Ommani Center for Integrative Medicine in Pewaukee, WI travel hours, from far- away places, for their appointments. She’s that good and uses simple, common sense approach to help her patients make a shift from feeling sluggish, depressed, overweight and hopeless to feeling stronger, wiser, more vital than ever before- even embracing menopause as a wonderful phase of life!
Dr. Kumar launched the updated new edition of Becoming Real in 2014. In the new edition Dr. Kumar provides greater depth on her expertise about menopause and mid life for men as well as women.
She heard from the men who read the book they identified with many of the same symptoms as women. She updated and broadened the book to include men and expanded on the bonds that Becoming Real for men and women have in common. Dr. Kumar shares her unique perspective that mid life and menopause is not a disease but an opportunity to shift from one phase of life to another. Mid Life is the body’s natural time of awakening that change is on the horizon and a fresh life perspective available. Menopause is ultimately a spiritual transformation process.
Dr. Kumar founded the Ommani Center for Integrative Medicine in 2001 and serves as its Executive Director. She is Board certified in Internal Medicine, graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center.
