Connie’s motivational quote today is by, ~ Mother Teresa
“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
Have you ever stopped in the middle of what you were doing – shopping, doing dishes, running errands and just thought:
What is this all about? What am I here to do? Does my life have a purpose beyond running it?
What does what I do and think reveal about who or what I love? Why does it matter?
All these questions are so important and yet often elusive to finding actual answers. If they are so important, then why are they so hard to answer and define?
Dr. Lester Sauvage has answered so many of these questions in his book “Opening Hearts – A Cardiovascular Surgeon Reflects on Faith, Healing, Love & the Meaning of Life.” Barbara Mulvey Little is speaking with your host, Connie Whitman, today about this masterful book and share why she was chosen to help him write this book and the meaning behind Dr. Sauvage’s words.
Barbara Mulvey Little was invited to work with Dr. Sauvage in what became the last 18 months of his life. Recognizing his passion to complete this book as his enduring healing legacy, Little drew from her skills as writer, editor, hospice caregiver, and spiritual director..
Throughout their collaboration, one of the book’s primary topics—the spirituality of consciously choosing love—was constantly put to the test: Sauvage suffered a stroke, the death of his beloved wife of 60 years and its accompanying bereavement, and increasing physical dysfunctions from Parkinson’s disease that challenged every aspect of life for this once-vital, independent man. Yet Sauvage remained faith-filled and focused on completing his book.
Barbara is an author, freelance book editor, journalist, and workshop facilitator. I don’t know about you but I am looking forward to uncovering some clear answers as to how to find love and joy in our lives immediately!
