Following the Money with Larry Roberts MA
Author and Economist, Lawrence (Larry) Roberts writes and works from the mountain village of Topanga (In the local Native American language Topanga means heaven). Larry grew up in the agricultural fields of California and left to volunteer for Viet Nam, where he served as a Communications Technician on B-52’s. At U-Tapao airfield his ingenuity saved a critical combat mission, earning him a Commendation Medal. After leaving the service Larry earned a Fellowship to McMaster’s University in Ontario where he completed his M.A. with High Honors.
Academia was next where Larry taught at colleges in Canada and California. With a growing family’s financial needs, Roberts left teaching to contract with major technology and communications companies Telcordia and the Saudi Telephone Company. Returning to North America, Roberts built and managed the first private debit card processor in Canada, EMC. With a successful sale of the company, a new challenge was on the horizon, managing a private family fortune as Risk Manager. Dismayed by their malicious business practices, he moved up in the mountains to manage private banking and commercial web sites.
As an academic who spent decades working inside family fortunes and aggressive banks, Roberts brings a keen insight into the flow of our economy and long term wealth streams. Contributing to the speed learning series, he has just completed his third book, How the Very Rich Rob Us. Now hosting Following The Money on WebTalkRadio.net – tune in each week for a sophisticated analysis, and join Larry following the money.
