Green Patriot Radio with David Steinman

David Steinman is the founder of the Green Patriot movement and the environmental health consumer advocate known as “America’s Consumer Cop”. Steinman achieved fame as an award-winning investigative journalist and the bestselling author of Diet for a Poisoned Planet: How to Choose Safe Foods for You and Your Family, The Safe Shopper’s Bible: A Consumer’s Guide to Nontoxic Household Products, Cosmetics, and Food, and Safe Trip to Eden: Ten Steps to Save Planet Earth from the Global Warming Meltdown.

Recently, Steinman exposed the presence of the petrochemical carcinogen 1,4-dioxane in major brand children’s bath products and in brands claiming to be “natural and organic” as well as traditional brands of personal care products and household cleaning products. Based on the results of his studies (in collaboration with the Organic Consumers Association, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, and the Environmental Working Group), the California District Attorney’s office has filed lawsuits against offending brand owners (including Whole Foods Market) and at least sixteen major brands have reformulated their products. Previously, Steinman testified before the congressional subcommittee on Health and the Environment and served at the National Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Medicine on a committee for seafood safety.

Steinman’s company Freedom Press publishes groundbreaking books on health and the environment as well as the national magazine “The Doctors’ Prescription for Healthy Living”. Steinman is known for his unique perspective and bold opinions. He is frequently interviewed in the media on environmental sub-topics ranging from consumer products to food, transportation, natural health, politics and spirituality.
