Why Can’t We Get Along? with Dr. Millicent Carvalho and Brian Grevious
Dr. MILLICENT CARVALHO
Millicent Carvalho received her Ph.D. in Social Work, Master of Social Science (Social Work) and Master of Law and Social Policy degrees from Bryn Mawr College. In addition, she received her Master of Counselor Education degree from Boston University and undergraduate degree from La Salle University. Her research interests are in conflict avoidance and violence prevention, case management and family care giving. Dr. Carvalho is a master trainer, certified mediator, licensed social worker and trained facilitator. Trained in most mediation, conferencing and conflict resolution models, Dr. Carvalho founded the Pennsylvania Conflict Resolution and Mediation Services, Inc. (tag) in 2002 in order to provide more culturally relevant mediation and conflict resolution services. She has been a practicing mediator for more than 25 years. Dr. Carvalho’s training helps individuals and groups to manage change in ways that increase collaboration and result in positive outcomes. Her mediation and diversity expertise have aided in keeping constituencies with diverse stakeholders and points of view—working together.
BRIAN GREVIOUS
Brian Grevious received his Master of Arts in Human Services from Antioch University and Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University with a specialization in Management/Industrial Relations and Organizational Behavior. A retired detective (gold shield) and trained investigator and mediator, he has extensive criminal justice experience and forensic interviewing and coordinating of parallel investigations experience at all levels. In addition, Brian has a keen understanding of human behavior and experience managing and organizing behavioral health programs.
