Her teenage son was spiraling into the drug world—terrifying days and nights worrying about his well-being. A mother’s love is not enough to stop the downward fall. Jody Belsher turned to music to get her through those difficult days. Returning to her roots, after a 20 year absence as a singer/songwriter, Belsher has just released her first CD “Starlight: Songs of Hope and Recovery.” The songs are written from an emotional depth carrying a message of hope to those who are struggling. Whether the struggle emanates from situational issues, drug abuse, mental impairment or what is now understood as “co-occurring illness,” Belsher connects to the listener on a heartfelt level.
