Spirituality is simply “something that in ecclesiastical law belongs to the church or to a cleric; or, sensitivity or attachment to religious values ” Webster, as such, we all need something to believe in, to guide us, to compass us in a certain direction. Religion or religious on the other hand is ” 1 a: the state of a religious; b (1): the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2): commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance; and or a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices” Webster, again.
I urge that as parents, we need to know the unfettered, unbiased, unadulterated truth about the religions organizations that exist and what their views are. Spirituality, not political stances, spirituality, not opportunistic evangelists, preachers and profits; spirituality pure and simple. Over next few shows we’ll dig heavily into the different spiritual views of ambient religious organizations in our society. We will talk to leaders from some of them, today we visit with: Mr. Lonnie Herndon, Pastor Ever Abundant Life International Ministries, Senior Pastor of the Church of Christian Compassion.
