In the past two months Denise has been contacted by an unusually large amount of families who have recently lost loved ones due to overdose or suicide, all because of their addictions. Is is because more people are searching for support or are there more deaths? This is quite concerning no matter what the reason. Their inquiries were related to how to grieve. Families have been finding, just like while their loved ones were alive, the stigma of addiction and mental illness often carries over after they have died. This week’s show is a replay of an interview Denise did with Denise Cullen of the organization GRASP (Grief Recovery After a Substance Passing). If you, or anyone you know, can use support due to a passing of a loved one from Substance abuse, please listen and discover options and a different perspective.
