Do you know where your food comes from? As guest Kevin Feinstein says in his book Practically Wild: Food and Health Through the Eyes of a Modern Forager, we are “a once wild animal, that has been domesticated.” As someone who started out eating the “Standard American Diet” with no awareness of where food came from, to becoming a teacher of foraging and gardening, Kevin understands the journey of reimagining our relationship with food. On this episode we talk about how our relationship with food has changed from that of our ancestors and how this impacts our relationship with the environment and even with ourselves. We also cover simple, practical steps that you can take to begin to “rewild” yourself and more deeply connect to the food you eat.
You can check out Kevin’s website at feralkevin.com, where you can also find his book. For more about Julie, go to her website.
