Fish Talk Radio is about sharing the joys of fishing and the outdoors. Our mission is to motivate people to get off the couch and onto the water. Equally important is the goal of encouraging anglers to become involved and to take the lead in conservation and in creating sustainable fisheries. Fish Talk Radio is for anyone who has ever dreamed of or picked up a rod and headed for the water… and for anyone who likes some fun!

The founder of Fish Hunt Talk Radio, John Henigin, passed away Tuesday, January 26th.
He had just celebrated his 72nd birthday on Thursday, January 21st. John brought the world of fishing, hunting and the great outdoors to millions of listeners for over 15 years.
We’ve gathered together a few of John’s regular guests and old friends to honor the man.
Godspeed John Henigin!
In 1999, John Henigin thought a local radio show about fishing in Santa Barbara might work. Ten years later, he has been honored four times by The Outdoors Writers Association of California as “Best Outdoor Radio Show of the Year”. Fish Talk Radio has grown to cover about half the population of California on six stations plus Northern Nevada. Fish Talk radio is syndicated nationally on Sports Byline USA. Now WebTalkRadio.net takes it to a much larger audience.
John is Ambassador at Large of the VAGABUNDOS DEL MAR, President of Outdoors Writers Association California (OWAC.org), and is on the Boards of the Santa Barbara Carriage & Western Museum and The Lake Cachuma Nature Center.
Living in Santa Barbara and a legal resident of Cabo San Lucas, John keeps a boat in Lake Cachuma and spends a lot of time after big game fish. As operator of “Reel Fun Adventures,” he hosts fishing trips to Alaska, Baja and Costa Rica as a regular part of his job. John also always finds time to sponsor kids’ fishing derbies and to take kids out on his boat at the lake.
