The Enlightened Entrepreneur with Dr. Ray Faulkenberry
Ray Faulkenberry, master of martial arts, father, media personality and impassioned entrepreneur is now hosting The Enlightened Entrepreneur radio program.
An early adopter of the three P’s in business: People, Planet and Profit Ray’s deepest desire is to help elevate the planet in ways that range from human potential to global economics. His passion is fueled by the need for us as human beings to being to honor ourselves and all life on the planet and to find compassion in every breath we take. His multi-faceted approach to achieving a changing world revolves around all types of media, business and economic growth, youth development, prototypical software creation, wealth-building, and spirituality.
A native San Franciscan, he excelled both athletically and academically. His academic life moved from traditional public schools through the California State University system to his graduation school curriculum that ended with his Ph.D. in psychology. In addition to the traditional coursework required in a doctoral program in psychology, Ray chose to extend his education and took additional specializations in Organization Development, Consciousness studies, Eastern Philosophy, and Communication theory.
His lifelong love and practice in martial arts has led him to achieve the rank of 7th degree black belt in the art of Taekwondo and a 7th degree black belt in Kenpo. He also has additional black belts in Tai-Chi-Chuan and Traditional Ancient Weapons. Ray has been teaching the martial arts for over 25 years and continues to teach to this day. His philosophy of martial arts revolves around and equal balance in understanding the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the human condition. Ray believes that the secondary or bi-product of a good martial arts system is one in which the individual would become proficient at self-defense. The main goal of a martial arts system, in his opinion, is to become a happier, healthier, more compassionate human being. He also feels that the model of the ancient samurai is a wonderful model to draw from as the Samurai represented the best in the human spirit: honesty, integrity, love and compassion, and a deep willingness to serve the greater good.
Continuing his journey, Ray has also enhanced his spiritual education as an adult and is an ordained interfaith minister. Interfaith spirituality honors all spiritual paths to God and looks to connect from the heart and minds of people and beliefs everywhere. Ray’s view that spirituality and not religion is a key to elevate the human condition to the next level and that spirituality is something practiced daily and not just on Sunday. His next task that he is joyfully pursuing is the integration of universal principles of spirituality like honesty, service, integrity, and sustainability into the world of business. He is currently writing a series of books under the banner of The Corporate Samurai that deal with how to do this from Ray’s own unique perspective and embody the Samurai perspective.
Ray’s experience has been diverse in the area of education, training, business, real-estate, writing, and speaking. He continues to push to discover the deepest parts of himself and also to assist others in living the healthiest life possible. His life’s mission is to assist the planet and its population to achieve its highest potential. Ray continues to live in the San Francisco Bay Area with his loving wife, Linda, and their two children.
