Reconciling science and religion remains an unfinished project. Some believe science can answer all the big questions — including creation and the origin of life — and therefore there is no need for religion. Others want to base society upon ancient religious manuscripts, regardless of what the findings of science show. Still others believe science and religion cover different domains, and the two systems should not intrude upon each other’s turf. On this show, Philip Mereton talks with Roy E. Bourque, author of The Merging of Two Worlds: The Convergence of Scientific and Religious Thought, about how both science and religion will have to change if there is going to be any chance of a true reconciliation.
