Biography

Food is the First Medicine with Dr. Mary Riggin and Dr. Kim Marie

Dr. Mary Riggin
Dr. Mary is a Board Certified (NCCAOM), Licensed Acupuncturist (FL) and Doctor of Acupuncture (RI). She is founder and clinic director of Healing Touch Oriental Medicine (HTOM). Since 1996, her purpose has been to help as many people as possible achieve optimal health. She created, produced and hosted the award-winning TV show Health Options; she also created, produced and co-hosted Burn Fat Talk Radio with Dr. Kim.

She graduated from the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine; her undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering Technology.

She was appointed by FL Gov Chiles and FL Gov Bush to serve a 3- year term on Florida’s State Board of Acupuncture; Dr. Mary also served as President of the Florida State Oriental Medical Association.

Dr. Mary is a speaker, free-lance writer, and has been featured on TV and radio nationwide.

Dr. Kim Marie
Dr. Kim is a Board Certified (NCCAOM), Licensed Acupuncturist (FL) and Doctor of Acupuncture (RI). She has practiced in Chicago and Tampa Bay with a specialty in Stubborn Weight and Diabetes. Her purpose is to help as many people as possible regain and maintain optimum health. She the Medical Director of HTOM, and is currently involved in Diabetes research and Corporate Wellness in the Tampa Bay area. She is a free-lance writer, speaker and seminar leader. She co-hosted Burn Fat Talk Radio with Dr. Mary.

Dr. Kim graduated with top honors from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, with a M.S. In Oriental Medicine, and a B.Sc. in Nutrition.

Dr. Mary’s and Dr. Kim’s clinical specialties include hormone balancing, allergy desensitizing, chronic pain, and difficult cases involving complex functional and metabolic disorders. Treatment specialties include Food as Medicine, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Herbal Medicine, Oriental Bodywork, Sports Medicine, Nutritional supplementation, Nutripuncture, and life-style counseling.
