Host: Andrea Jones
Our mothers did not tell us the entire story when it comes to relationships, love, marriage, kids and sex. Probably because they did not want to scare us, but often they just did not know. Andrea tackles the questions most of us are too embarrassed to ask, the topics that might be too controversial and the lessons to be learned that are sometimes not easy to swallow as they go against what society here in the States considers the norm. Andrea provides an “honest girlfriend” approach and is the one everyone loves, yet everyone hates because she is not afraid to tell you that “Yes, that dress does make you look fat.“
What Your Mother Should Have Told You with Andrea Jones
If men are from Mars and women are from Venus, then Andrea Jones is definitely from Earth, providing a middle-ground perspective to women in both their personal and professional relationships with men.
A native of Berlin, Germany, Andrea has more than 15 years of experience as a woman working in leadership positions in mostly male-dominated work environments, including being the first woman to participate in an intense five-year leadership training program at Commerzbank Berlin.
Andrea’s innovative and effective way of dealing with men led to her success in the male-dominated sports world, where she was the one and only female business manager of a professional men’s basketball team in Europe, Alba Berlin Basketball Team, then worked for Berlin Capitals EIS (ICE) Hockey Team and became the Sports Sales Manager for Ticket Online, working with all professional sports teams in Germany.
In those positions, she negotiated with male managers of other German and European teams and agents, dealt with male players and their families on a daily basis, worked with male sponsors, handled the mostly male sports press, and oversaw game operations with mostly male colleagues.
As a woman succeeding in the men’s world of business and sports, men shared a lot of their thoughts, complaints, and ideas with Andrea, and over the years these thoughts manifested in her hands-on advice on how to “deal” with men.
After moving to Dallas in 2000, Andrea created The Relationship Coaches to give women insights into men, sex and relationships they might never get otherwise. She also teaches workshops on Gender Communication in corporations. Andrea is also a certified personal coach.
In her classes, workshops and individual coaching sessions, Andrea provides an “honest girlfriend” approach to keep a ship (one’s relation-ship) afloat before it even begins to sink. She is the girlfriend who everyone loves, yet everyone hates because she is not afraid to tell you that “Yes, that dress does make you look fat. “
Andrea is happily married, has 4 kids (Aysha 17, Savannah 11, identical twin boys
Major and Michael 8) and 4 step-kids (Tianna 26, Taleisha 24, Katie 10 and Christopher 8).
Andrea is also the Managing Director of the eWomenNetwork Chapters North Dallas and NE Tarrant County.
