“Our show dejour promises to be one of the most profound and funny shows you will ever hear.  It will tickle your funny bone while also tugging at your heartstrings,” announces Dõv Baron, kicking off this week’s show. “Keep your hankey handy because there’s a good chance you’ll be blowing your nose and wiping your eyes more often than a cokehead at the Playboy manor in 1986.”  This week’s guest is Kathy Buckley, America’s First Hearing-Impaired Comedienne.  Kathy is a five-time American Comedy Award Nominee for Best Stand-Up Female Comedienne and the winner of countless other awards for her work. Kathy’s book, If You Could Hear What I See, will have you laughing and crying as you experience the amazing story of her life.

“I was in school for retardation for several years before they found out it was just a hearing loss,” shares Kathy.  Kathy then gives a brief overview of her early life: sexually abused by her father, a terrible accident at the beach, her struggles while fighting Cancer, her endless troubles in school due to her difficulty communicating, and her on-going journey for self-acceptance.  After being nearly killed by a Jeep, Kathy says, “I saw life after death, or at least I believe I did… When I died, I got a love that’s just out of this world.”  She describes the experience as “life-changing” and attributes it to what finally made her wake up and start living.  “I always tell people that, if I could just kill you for five minutes, you’d wake up and everything would be fine!”

Kathy speaks in detail about stopping the “Cycle of the Abused.”  Learn how to step up, take action, seek forgiveness, and get to know yourself on a whole new level!  Learn to use your vocabulary and your sense of humor to redefine who you are!  All this and she answers listener questions!  Tune in now!!
