Melissa Moore discusses her book, Shattered Silence, with Tami. Melissa grew up in a home where her father would kill cats, dogs, and other pets for pleasure and a mother who was disconnected emotionally. Her father eventually moved on to murdering women between 1990 and 1995 and was dubbed the Happy Face Serial Killer. Not only did Melissa experience such events in her childhood, such as watching her pets being murdered, but then after her parents divorced, her mother married a physically, emotionally, and mentally abusive man, lived in poverty, and then was raped by her boyfriend. Listen to how she worked through all of those emotional wounds and how she is today.
