Championship Thinking in Sports – Ways the NCAA continues to help improve DI Baseball

In this American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), sponsored show, guest Damani Leech*, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Director for Championships and Alliances discusses a) the 2012 DI baseball post-season selection process, b) emphasis on 2nd year improvements at the new home of the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, c) major changes coaches are seeking, d) sportsmanship and fan behavior, and e) the NCAA’s international alliances. Damani is in his 14th year at the NCAA national office. Primary areas of responsibility include management of the Division I Football Championship, postseason bowl licensing, the Men’s College World Series and other issues related to college football and baseball. Damani is a former football student-athlete at Princeton University, earning Third-team All-America honors and earning First-team All-Ivy League as a defensive back three consecutive years. He received his bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and International Affairs from Princeton University in 1998 and earned a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University in 2004.
