Everything must start sometimes, somewhere, as so it was with the first episode of Hovey’s Outdoor Adventures which is being re-broadcast. After 18 months, starting with a weekly radio show and then reduced to two shows a month and a Kickstarter project that only reached 18 percent of its goal, it is time for me to decide where to go from here.
In this first show you will hear some elements that were continued in the later shows as well as others, such as the business tips, that were dropped. Two significant additions were the use of a modern micro digital recorder and production of YouTube videos to go along with the show along with descriptive blogs at www.hoveysoutdooradventures.wordpress.com. At present there are about 140 YouTube videos many of which are related to some aspect of the radio shows.
The next show up for June 2 will be a one-hour show covering the Atlanta Blade Show and International Cutlery Fair. I had arranged to cover the Quality Deer Management annual meeting in Knoxville, Tennessee, but that trip is now in doubt depending on the amount of income received between now and then. The failure of the Kickstarter project has put Hovey’s Outdoor Adventures on a poverty footing to the extent that the title of the next show will be “Poverty Radio Presents, 2012 Atlanta Blade Show.”
