After a 40-year career as a hairdresser, salon owner, and educator, Sara Lou Manning signed the lease for a new business and up for Social Security on the same day. She sold her salon several years earlier but maintained a number of clients while she followed her passion for helping people with hair loss. Instead of retiring though, she opened a niche business devoted to developing custom solutions for a variety of hair issues.
On this episode of Business: Engaged!, Sara Lou talks about the hope that her business provides those dealing with temporary and permanent hair loss. She also pulls back the curtain on her lean business model. It’s a far cry from the busy salon she ran for many years.
You can visit Sara Lou’s Custom Design Hair website to learn more about her salon.
