In light of the new face of addiction, prescription drug abuse and the new synthetic drugs, more and more of our loved ones are dealing with addictions these days. There are young men and women, wives and husbands, even grandparents who will do what they need to do to get their next fix. Sometimes crimes are committed in the process and they end up in jail or prison.
This week we will talk about some of the things we, as loved ones of addicts, can do to help ease the experience of prison for our addicts and also, what they can do for themselves to use their time wisely and ease their transition back to the “free” world.
Denise’s guest is Lamont Carey, who says he was born in Washington, DC but raised in prison. His work helping transition prisoners after incarceration has been noticed and commended by the federal government as well as by many families and loved ones. Listen to what Lamont has to say and find out more about him on his website, Youtube channel, and personal page.
