There are two guests on this week’s show talking about non-profit funding. The first guest talks about the recent Blackbaud report, State of the Nonprofit Industry. It describes what nonprofits in three countries are doing to attract new donors and retain current donors. My second guest is a finance wizard and she gives us an update about a paradigm-shifting idea she has for grantmakers: stop asking for budgets to go along with grant proposals!
Starting off the show, then, is an interview with Dennis McCarthy, the vice president of strategy and business practice for Blackbaud. His company is the leading global provider of software and services to nonprofits and each year, it produces the State of the Nonprofit Industry report. Dennis has been serving nonprofits for more than 30 years in the design and implementation of integrated marketing solutions, which means he’s seen firsthand what works in raising lots of money. I’m pleased to have him on the show. My second guest is Carol Cantwell, the founder of Fun with Financials, a San Francisco-based company that teaches nonprofits practices that support informed financial decisions. It also assists foundations with their grants and processes so they support nonprofit financial health. Enjoy the show!
