I know many families are facing unthinkable news today…news that that none of us ever want to hear… that their child has cancer. I can only imagine how a parent’s world is knocked upside down with this news…life is never the same after hearing a diagnosis of cancer.
According to the National Cancer institute, over 13,400 children ages between birth and 19 years of age…face this diagnosis. They report that cancer is the number one cause of disease-related deaths in children.
Yet we don’t hear much about the number of children diagnosed with this disease or groundbreaking research for childhood cancer.
So I’ve invited my guest Whitney Ringler to share her experience surrounding her own child’s diagnosis of cancer. Whitney is a Mom of two children, ages 9 & 12. After her son, Chase, was diagnosed with cancer, at the age of 3, Whitney started a foundation called, Chase After a Cure. Her foundation raises money for childhood cancer research and to help raise awareness for childhood cancer. Chase After a Cure has donated over $400,000 to childhood cancer research.
