I look at a lot of nonprofit websites every month and I have become concerned that too many of you are not encouraging planned gifts. If you have a solid base of individual support, then you need to present these donors with opportunities for greater levels of giving. You don’t have to have a law or finance degree to encourage memorials or bequests.
My guest this week is Tom Glass, the Director of Planned Giving for the University of St. Thomas, the largest private college or university in Minnesota. Prior to being in planned giving work, Tom was a co-owner of a financial services company for 25 years. On this show, we discuss five things you should know about starting a planned giving program and our conversation couldn’t be easier to understand.
I encourage you to listen to the show, share it with board members and jump in. You will find yourself building deeper and even delightful relationships with these loyal donors and they will appreciate becoming more engaged with your nonprofit.
Enjoy the show!
