Throughout history, women have been an integral part of service to our country. As a nation, we continually recognize the growing need for women in service and in fact, today over 200,000 women were deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Although women have sacrificed their time, talents, and even their lives, they continue to face barriers, including stigma, inadequate healthcare specifically for women, family life issues, sexual assault and harassment, homelessness, and lack of career advancement, to name a few. Join us as we discuss one woman’s experience in the military and how she managed to cope.
