I recently came across a book, entitled “Second Class Professor”. This book was a real eye opener for me. “Second Class Professor” exposes the issue of the use and abuse of adjunct professors in the United States. I was shocked to read that 70-85% of all professors in both community and four year colleges, are adjunct professors. After reading the book, I felt that this information was important for you to know as parents, especially if you’ll soon be paying for your child’s college education.

I’ve invited my guest, Angela Hurd, to join my conversation. Angela is the author of “Second Class Professor: Who is teaching our students? What you need to know if you’re paying for college”. Angela has taught college courses for 16 years at both 2 and 4-year universities and colleges. She has taught in private and state colleges and for-profit schools as well. She is a certified tutor and a frequent guest speaker to local debate teams. She judges high school debate and is occasionally called upon to review local theater presentations.
