Sometimes, no matter how carefully we choose the foods we eat, there are still some nutritional gaps. These can lead to poor sleep, dry skin or hair, or cracking nails. You might notice your body being slow to recover from injury.
These subtle signals are signs that we are missing a few key nutrients. Magnesium and gaba are two nutrients that are often overlooked. If we don’t get enough Omega 3 fatty acids we can compromise our heart or brain health.
The good news is that a great way to get magnesium is also very luxurious and indulgent. Other ways to fill in the gaps can be as simple as adding a key ingredient such as aloe to your favorite smoothie recipe.
This week we talk with Jamie Solberg, nutritionist for City Market, a grocer found across the western U.S. Jamie coaches ultra endurance athletes and also teaches a “Cooking Matters” class to children and young adults to get them off on the right foot down the road to great health.
