Everyone on Instagram always asks @WhatsGabyCookin. Gaby Dalkin is the Pied Piper of the culinary world.  Gaby’s enthusiasm, encouragement, recipes and authenticity help her followers become even better home chefs all while having fun in the kitchen.


Recently, Gaby joined Chef Jaime Laurita and me in the Viking and La Cornue Showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago for a Kitchen Chat about her new cookbook What’s Gaby Cooking.

 

It’s always great to see Gaby.  Gaby and I met several years ago at an International Association of Culinary Professionals conference.  You will love her candid advice about shoes and even learn how to shuck an oyster. And check out Gaby’s cookbook and great products atWilliams-Sonoma 

Here are Gaby’s  three top tips for the home chef:

  1. Always have lemons
  2. Have a really great chef knife.  You don’t need a lot of knives.
  3. Cook with confidence.  The worst that can happen is it doesn’t work out then you try it again or order pizza.
