A Creative Toolkit of Meditations by William Blake
THE BOOK WAS A FEATURED SELECTION AT THE FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR 2018 HELD IN FRANKFURT, GERMANY IN OCTOBER, 2018.
A Creative Toolkit of Meditations has twenty meditations that assist the reader in mastering the two styles of meditation: inquiry and mindfulness. Mindfulness meditation subdues our “monkey-mind thoughts.” Inquiry meditation asks Inner Silence for an answer to painful relationship and work issues.
A Creative Toolkit of Meditations has three traits that put it at the top of meditation books.
The first trait is growing up and waking up. These are the two journeys of life. To grow up, we become more caring toward others, more independent and interdependent, more functional. To wake up, we finally recognize What We Are, our essential nature. Chapters 1-3 deal with growing up, Chapter 4 with waking up, and Chapters 5-8 with integrating these two journeys.
Meditation has two core purposes, inquiry and mindfulness. Inquiry meditation asks questions of the Universal Silence that is our Essence, our Source of intelligence-energy. The book also stresses mindfulness meditations training the mind to relax, to release negative thoughts and feelings and thus enter beneficial, pleasurable Silence.
The third trait of A Creative Toolkit of Meditation is abundant, reader-friendly examples of traits one and two.
