Fashion and Food.  It’s the perfect pairing.  Cynthia Rowley and her daughter, Kit Keenan recently joined Chef Jaime Laurita and me in the Viking and La Cornue Showroom in New York City to chat about fashion and food.  Just as Cynthia Rowley and Kit Keenan create their own recipe for setting trends in the fashion industry, they enjoy exploring food trends and creating recipes in their own kitchen.  Both food and fashion are meant to be shared.   “Kit totally changed the way we eat, ” Cynthia says.  Kit has introduced a lot of inspiration and healthy ingredients into their meals, and both mom and daughter value this special time cooking together.  I would love to see them design a food and fashion cookbook, wouldn’t you?

Here are Cynthia Rowley’s and Kit Keenan’s three top tips for the home chef:

  1. Make simple swaps in the kitchen.  Substitute coconut aminos for soy sauce and Greek yogurt for low-fat yogurt.
  2. Efficiency and Speed.  Always have a well-stocked kitchen
  3. The Air Crisper is their new obsession making avocado, zucchini, carrots and chickpeas in it.

What is your favorite new trend in food and fashion?

Savor the day!
