Author Jennifer S. Holland joins the Rover Reporter to share her experience of researching, and curating stories for Dog Smart – Life Changing Lessons in Canine Intelligence.

Did you know that there are more than 1 billion dogs in the world? Startled yet? How about this – 85% of those dogs are free roaming. How do they do it?  

During this three year project, Jennifer traveled widely to participate in, and report on multiple dog behavior studies and watch working dogs in action. From her bird’s eye view we come to understand that dogs can learn and inherently have a unique set of skills to help them adapt to their environment and its requirements.  From the training of dogs to assist those with disabilities to search and rescue dogs, readers will meet adn get to know a little bit about those canine heroes.
