The book is written for children between the ages of 3-8. The story takes place in a Town called Casualtyville. It is a story about a Paramedic named Dan, Dan, The Ambulance Man who treats sick people.

When Dan the paramedic arrives at Percy Bunn’s bakery, it is on fire! Dan examines Percy, then Dan and the firemen put Percy in the Ambulance, and lastly Dan arrives at hospital and hands over to the Doctor. The book is designed to  introduce young children to what is involved to the life of a paramedic.

The author hopes children will take away the following messages from the book:

1. Better understanding of what a Paramedic does.
2. For the child to become less afraid of the Paramedic and Ambulance
3. The child will be less frightened of Hospitals and Doctors.
