For six months now I have put my podcasts out there. It has been a meaningful journey for me and I do hope my meanderings have inspired others. Inspired others to think outside of the box.
Today I will finish the quick review of this series and then end with some closing thoughts. I will summarize what I find the bottom line to be.
Most of all I want to thank those who have listened. I wish you all the best as you each continue on your own journeys. Just remember: Every day is a new beginning.
After my birth in Portland, Oregon, I spent much of my childhood on the north Oregon coast. There, amid trees and the ocean breeze, my family encouraged me to think things through for myself. Looking back, I can only say I felt free as a bird. For me there is no “box.”
After receiving my education, my career had me traveling extensively throughout the United States. But always my passion was writing. Nights in hotel rooms gave me time to do just that. While shopping in an airport gift shop, I found a set of inspirational cards. Over several years I focused on six of those cards in my personal studies. One day I realized that I had enough material for a book: It Is Always NOW became a reality.
Yes, I am a Christian. That is how I was raised and I have found a path for myself within the Christian community that truly works for me. But my personal belief system does not line up with any one so called “organized religion.” I have gathered inspiration and concepts from many sources and my understanding continues to evolve as it always must. I often go back to what a Lutheran priest once told me: “You can’t reduce God to black words on a white page.”
As an inspirational writer and speaker I can only share what works for me. So I share the foundation that has helped me keep perspective in this world of non-stop information overload. Perspecitve that has helped me in my seach for something outside of self. It is not my intent or place to tell others “how to.” Each individual must realize their own path. Rather, it is my goal to awaken curiosity. It is curiosity that keeps us seeking and finding truth.
Now I am “off road,” in Houston, Texas. While dating online (it is the twenty-first century) I found my soulmate and husband, Ray. We have been married for seven years and counting.
Together Ray and I enjoy the arts, gourmet food, travel, community, family and friends, and more. Together we have traveled to seven countries. Our favorite way to travel is to spend a month in each country. So far we have had the opportunity to do this in Italy, Spain & Portugal, and France. We have also taken several cruises and been on numerous shorter adventures.
It is the diversity of the world we live in that makes life so rich and rewarding. We all learn from each other. Together we find answers. Together we are strong.
