Mal Duane, the author of The Alpha Chick, an Amazon best seller, speaks about her young life as a beloved third child in a wealthy Massachusetts town, her father’s decline into alcoholism, her own failed relationships and her own deterioration in the grip of alcohol. As a famous model, traveling the world, and running a modeling agency, she felt worthless inside and drank to drown her pain. 25 years ago she hit her own bottom and asked for help. Joining AA, she found a faith in herself and a Divine Consciousness. The five steps spell the acronym FAITH: Focus, Acceptance and Attitude, Identification and Intention, Thoughts, Healing and Helping. Mal moved from innocence to obsession to transformation and learned that there is nothing to fear with a profound connection to the divine presence. Her website alphachick.com is home to many practices which women can use to empower ourselves and to find serenity.
