Disenchanted with organized religion and yearning for redemption, Schaeffer left the movement and the faith, fashioning a life where family and the beauty of art led him to healing. His most recent book, Why I am an Atheist Who Believes in God, subtitled How to Give Love, Create Beauty, and Find Peace, expresses Frank’s deep belief that there is no right or wrong, good or bad, no hell, no certainty, and that we must learn to live in the paradoxes.
