Interview with Cathy Nelson, founder and coordinator of The Friends of Freedom Society, a statewide organization in Ohio dedicated to raise public awareness about the lives of slaves and their effort to seek freedom through the Underground Railroad. We talk about how the organization started and the many programs it has established, its newsletter and the book it published, and events that it has held since its formation in 1997. We also discuss why the Underground Railroad became so widespread in Ohio and how the organization wentabout the task to gather information about it.
