Dr. Chris Ferguson, professor of psychology and criminal justice at Texas A&M International University and author of Suicide Kings, joins Family Connections in the second of a 2-part series on violence and mass homicides.  Dr.Ferguson is a noted author and researcher in the area of violence and mental health issues.  Dr. Ferguson will identify the top three variables most related to those who perpetrate mass homicides.  He’ll dispell myths regarding violent video games and media violence and their relationshp to violence, and his concerns that we’re making them the bad guys without focusing on meaningful societal changes.  We’ll also discuss how to talk to kids about scary events without scaring them.  This show is especially timely and helps listeners understand, simply and sensitively, how these horrible events continue to happen to innocent people.
