On this show Dr. Mayer talks with Mickey Kesselman, a dad who lost his 18 year old daughter to brain cancer. Mickey brings us right up close to how it feels to have a teen suffering from an incurable illness and how he and his family coped with such a burden. As painful as this story is, it is also about hope and courage and legacy as Mickey details how his daughter in her darkest, most painful hours reached out to other teens as they also suffered with cancer. Out of Becca’s support meetings with teens and her inspirational affirmations she conveyed to those suffering like her, the mission of The Becca Foundation has been born, the foundation Mickey Kesselman started to be a resource for teens, their families and the caregivers confronting cancer.
