In this episode of the Breakout with Newt Gingrich podcast, Newt interviews the creators
of Outbox, Evan Baehr and Will Davis. Outbox was created with the intention of allowing
people to digitally receive their mail being sent by the United States Postal Service using a
smartphone app. Receiving their mail through a smartphone would allow Outbox users to
have easy access to their bills, personal letters, and other important pieces of correspondence.
It would also allow them to ignore the large amount of junk mail many Americans see in their
mailbox on a daily basis. However, Evan and Will’s innovative way of allowing people to receive
their mail drew the attention of the prison guards at the USPS, who saw Outbox as a threat to
their outdated model of sending mail.
